Ward Reunion 2012 - Camping

 Beautiful Redfish Lake was the designated meeting spot for the Ward Family Camping trip this year!  We were minus one spouse and a few teenage kids, but for the most part, we were all together...now if only we could get a picture - well, we tried, but we didn't get everyone in the picture...some people had already left for the beach - but here is most of the crew.  For the few days we were together up in the woods we sure did a lot - we camped, hiked, boated, played in the water, cooked, rode bikes, went fishing, celebrated birthdays, visited a fish hatchery, relaxed and just had a great time being together getting all dirty!  With 3 of the 4 daughters pregnant ..it was quite the camping trip - a lot of potty stops!  All the cousins had a great time exploring, playing, and being together!  There is just something about that Idaho Mountain air that is just amazing and fun to be in!

A Day at Disney

 

We had one day left from our Hopper passes, so we spent one whole day seeing and doing what we wanted at Disney.  We decided to try California Adventure side since we didn't ride anything over there on our last trip... and Aparri found her love in the Aerial ride...which had NO line-  so we rode it several times!  Since carsland just opened, the lines were rediculous, but we did get on the tractor ride which was fun.  The Mickey Mouse ferriswheel was quite the adventure and ride- Preston saw the huge ferris wheel and wanted to ride it, so we thought...oh a nice quiet ride, ok...but no - it was quite the adventure, you not only go around the circle, the individual gandolas slide too and boy it looks like you are going to rocket right off the track...wow..it took us all by surprise!  The kids were death gripping us the first time it happened - Clay and Laura just looked at each other, held on, and laughed!  The ride was just long enough, by the time it was over, we were ready to be out of those gandolas...our stomachs weren't going to be able to hold much more rocking and sliding!  After our fill of California Adventure, we ventured off and went to lunch at one of our favorite restaurants...Sweet Tomatoes!  On our way back, we decided to park and take the monorail in..that is a ride in and of itself...a "rocket ship" as the boys called it!  When we arrived back at the park, we decided to do the Disneyland side.  We rode a few of our favorites and then headed for home!  We stopped in Downtown Disney on our way out and saw huge Disney figures all made out of legos...Now, that was impressive!  All in all...A fun HOT day at the park!  Thank goodness for slushies!

A day at the Beach

It is really nice and convienent to be so close to the beach and Disneyland!  Mid July, Clay had 2 days off in the middle of the week, so we headed to California!!  We spent the first day at Huntington Beach - riding the waves, playing in the sand, and searching for shells.  When we drove up, the boys saw some boats in the distance and instantly referenced them to "Pirate Ships"  and it struck fear in our little Aparri.  It took a little coaxing to get her into the water because she was afraid of the Pirates!  Oh Goodness...but after some time and reassurance from Mom, she got in the water and forgot about the pirates!  CJ and Preston had a great time boogie boarding with their dad - riding the waves!

 

 

 

Months of Prune Fingers

 Summers in Las Vegas are HOT, HOT, HOT... and when people ask, "How do you like it there in Las Vegas with all that heat?"  We reply, "We love it!"  We LIVE at the POOL!  We go from Air Conditioned House to Air Conditioned Car to Air Conditioned Store and back, or we are at the pool.  When we say we lived at the pool this summer, we aren't exaggerating... it was the perfect place to cool down, release energy, socialize with friends, and have fun as a family...what else could you ask for???  Well, I guess you could ask for an underwater camera to capture it all and waa laa...we are set - now we can share the fun!
